CoolSource and the University of Pennsylvania team up to provide teacher training. The University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education has created a class that uses the CoolSource Technologies PERSONAL BEST LEARNING SYSTEM as it's cornerstone to educate teachers on how to take advantage of emerging technology in the classroom. Following is the course description: PLN 10: INQUIRY INTO STUDENT LEARNING TO INFORM PRACTICE In this seminar, participants learn ways to construct learning experiences for their students that help them become co-constructive, resilient problem solvers using two interrelated frameworks: The Critical Experiences/Lenses of Learning and The Personal Best Learning System*. Participants engage in an ongoing case study of a struggling student in the form of online journals and online discussions with educators from all of the Ambassador Schools. The final project is a description and analysis of the participants’ experiences in the seminar and a reflection of the implications on teaching and learning. *The Personal Best Learning System is a web-based tool designed to help teachers differentiate instruction for individual students as well as develop more inclusive lesson plans to engage their entire class. Using a scientifically proven assessment, Personal Best Learning System determines the learning preferences of students, builds individual learning profiles, and provides tips and strategies to help students according to their learning preferences. |
